Our activities

Art, Culture, Play & Learning

Explore the ways we bring children and families together through creative activities, Ethiopian cultural traditions, outdoor discovery and learning through play. Our work spans community experiences in Ethiopia and the USA, children’s media and our developing Bira & Biro EdTech project.

Events & Festivals
01

Events & Festivals

Our festivals and community events bring children and families together through traditional games, creative activities, storytelling, music and cultural performances. They create opportunities for generations to share experiences, explore Ethiopian heritage and enjoy learning through play.

Children's Media
02

Children's Media

Our coloring books, storybooks and educational television programs introduce children to Ethiopian culture, creativity, environmental awareness and everyday life skills. Through stories, characters and art, we encourage curiosity and activities families can explore together.

Artisan Products
03

Artisan Products

Inspired by Ethiopian traditions, our handmade toys, books and crafts connect children and families with cultural heritage. These products invite imaginative play, creative discovery and an appreciation for the skills and stories behind the things we make.

Recreation & Nature-Inspired Play
04

Recreation & Nature-Inspired Play

Our play, culture and art center in Addis Ababa brings together creative arts, cultural activities and outdoor discovery. In our USA work, including Greater Seattle, we welcome inquiries for park activities, family days and recreation programs planned with local hosts and communities. Contact us to discuss locations and availability.

Community Outreach
05

Community Outreach

We help extend opportunities for play and learning through community playground projects and donations of books and toys. Working with families, volunteers and community organizations, we support children’s access to creative experiences and shared spaces to play.

Bira & Biro — Our EdTech Project
06

Bira & Biro — Our EdTech Project

Bira & Biro is our multilingual, play-based learning platform in development for children ages 3–8. It connects digital learning with hands-on activities, creativity, culture and real-world exploration, encouraging children to keep discovering beyond the screen. The project is being developed with support from the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship and Reach for Change. Contact us to learn about the project or discuss collaboration.
